Our dedicated Massachusetts Registry lawyers will work hard to get your license suspension or revocation shortened or rescinded. If that’s not possible, we may be able to to get you a Massachusetts hardship license, which is also known as a work or Cinderella license. A hardship license is restricted in that it is only valid for an identical twelve (12) hour period each day.
If your Massachusetts license is suspended or revoked, you are entitled to a hearing before the Registry of Motor Vehicles and, if necessary, the Board of Appeals. Also, if your license is suspended because you refused to take a chemical breath test, you are entitled a hearing before the RMV. You must request this RMV hearing within 15 days of the CTR suspension. If you win at that hearing the Registry MUST reinstate your license, permit or right to operate. If you lose, within 30 days of receipt of the Registry’s decision, you have the right to file an appeal in the district court for the judicial district in which the offense occurred. You must file this appeal of the Registrar’s decision within 30 days. Again, if you win in District Court, the court can reverse the Registrar's determination. Our registry appeal attorneys will represent you at every step in this process. We will prepare and argue your case in front of the Registry of Motor Vehicles, the Board of Appeal, and the District Court.
Common Massachusetts license suspension reasons include: breathalyzer refusal, drunk driving, which is also known as OUI, DUI, or DWI, habitual traffic offender, 7 surchargable events, JOL Violations, drug offenses, speeding tickets, and traffic violations. RMV appeal attorneys can assist you with each type of license suspension or revocation.
In this technical area of law, expert advocacy can make the difference between getting your license back or having to serve out your license suspension. Contact us now for a free consultation and review of your case. If, after reviewing the facts and circumstances of your case, we do not be believe that we can help you, we will advise you accordingly. The RMV and Board of Appeal have strict criteria and unfortunately, many people do not qualify for reinstatement. If you do not appear eligible for reinstatement or a hardship license, we will advise you as to what you can do to qualify and/or how long you must wait. Although we cannot help everyone, there are a large number of people who needlessly risk arrest and jail every day by driving on suspended licenses. We can assist many of these people in either getting their full license reinstated or get a hardship license.
Unlike many other lawyers who deal with license suspensions, we are not DWI attorneys. We focus solely on dealing with the Registry of Motor Vehicles, the Board of Appeal, and Massachusetts Courts to get our clients back on the road legally.
